In Autumn 2011, Fishamble: The New Play Company, in partnership with The Irish Times, launched Tiny Plays for Ireland, commissioning short works by some of Ireland's best-loved writers and calling for submissions of tiny dramas (600 words or four minutes) from the public. Over 1,700 submissions were received, reflecting the imagination, creativity, and psyche of the nation.
